Good afternoon friends,
Well it has been a long time since I have posted on here but I have a few things that the Lord has done that I would like to share with you.
We have moved from the Great state of Maine to Clark Summit, Pennsylvania to attend Bible college. In doing that we have had a great many challenges along the way in just the past months time. Okay, lets go back to Mid December, I had to give up my job, which was okay, but the difficult thing was leaving some dear friends that the Lord had blessed me with. What a challenge, but it also showed me how blessed I had been for four years working with some spectacular people. It also has made me appreciate being able to email and text message and call my friends. I have also learned a great deal about friends and who they are and which one are friends for convenience.
The good-byes...
In order to move from on place to another you have to pack. I have done this before, when I went to college and when I moved from my parents home to my home with my husband. I do NOT like or enjoy packing at all! Not even a little. I did not plan my packing well and it took much longer than I anticipated and made my last day in Maine a rough day. The entire day was consumed with getting a U Haul, packing, loading, packing, going to get to get the car trailer, come home pack and clean. We were so blessed to have the help of our family to accomplish this. When we returned from getting our car loaded {you have to have the U Haul people do this(their policy)}, we had to say good-bye to our families.
Saying Good-Byes, this was one of the saddest days of my life. Have been away for a year of college, I remembered how much I love home because it has my family and my friends and my comfort there. So it is 8pm and we have our U Haul and we come to Ryan's brother Tyler's house, we go in and say good bye but I am not just saying good-bye to my brother-in-law and sister-in-law, I am saying good-bye to my little brother's (who is in Heaven) best friend. Granted I know that this is not good-bye forever it was hard. Tears were shed it was a really sad time. And for the record, as much as men don't like to see women cry, it is hard for women to see grown men cry. For Ryan this was equally difficult and sad thing. Ryan has worked side by side with his two brothers and Dad for 20+ years. Ryan shed many tears as well and this was good-bye #1 for Ryan's family. Next we went to see Ryan's brother Kyle, wife Alonia, and our sweet little niece Lily. Okay so I knew this was going to be hard too, Ryan and Kyle are best friends, they work closely and talk and text a lot. But before we even get to good-bye we were given paintings from Lily, wow, that just made me realize even more that we would be missing her growing up and was hard to think about as well. Then came the hugs and good-byes, wow it was hard, very sad and lots more tears were shed. I am so thankful that Ryan's brothers have become brothers to me as well. Next we went to say good-bye- to Ryan's mom and Dad and sister. We sat down and had some soup chatted a little but it was getting late so we had to say good-bye, so so difficult, this was very challenging as again there were A LOT of tears and sadness.
As for saying good-bye to my family that happened a little earlier in the day for my brothers. However, in saying good-bye to my brother God really used me leaving to mend a fence or two with them. Over time my brothers and I have grown apart, we talk but not a lot or frequently. One brother was totally shut off and the other was there but we were not close. On the night we said good-bye both brothers gave me a hug (we are not a hugging family) and they said they loved me. Most people will never know how much that meant to me. We also had to say good-bye to our other nieces, Ryleigh and Reagan oh how sad this was!! Such a heart breaking thing, we will miss our nieces growing up but God will bless. We also said good-bye to my sister-in-law Ashley and Heather. Then there were the last two people I had to say good-bye too my dear sister and my precious mom. We were sleeping at my moms that night so she said wake her in the morning before we left. But my sister, well I said good-bye to her the night before we left like everyone else. This was crushing for me. I cried, my heart we so sad. I love love love spending time with my sister whether we are just talking, out shopping or just getting a coffee it is something that I treasure dearly. But when the Lord calls you have to be obedient. So we go to bed at 11pm and get up at 3:45 to leave by 4am. At 4am my mom is up and has coffee made and breakfast for us to take. This was a very difficult good-bye as well. My mom is such a precious woman and mother. It made me sad to think that she would not just be a 3 minute drive away anymore but an 7.5 hr drive or phone call. Praise the Lord we have phones, and Skype. The last one I said good-bye to was sweet Ruthie, my dear golden retriever who is now staying with her Auntie and Grammy.
So we leave Maine and were 3 hrs into our journey and the Lord just blesses my heart with something really special. My brother Zach calls me just to see how the trip was going. Seems like no big deal well it just was so special to me and huge blessing. We made it to PA at around 1:30 in the afternoon.
We arrive at our new home and a greeted by our sweet friends who made us lunch. It was nice to arrive and be greeted by familiar faces. But our home was tiny and our U Haul was FULL and I mean FULL to the top. We were overwhelmed and tired and emotional. So we packed stuff into our tiny cute little home and there was a tiny path and that was it. So we were so exhausted that we put our bed together and just went to sleep. The next morning after a good amount of rest we went and got some DD for breakfast and some pumpkin coffee. When we returned home, life was better we managed to unpack more and we fit our washer and dryer in the washing room {we had to remove the door frame to accomplish this}. We were finally starting to settle in. God blessed us with moving on Tuesday so the next day Wednesday, we got to attend prayer meeting, meet some new people and just get rejuvenated. It was such a needed thing.
God seemed to have everything in order, just how we needed them.
Friends, I hope that you have a wonderful afternoon, and remember to Fully trust in God and His plan for you and your life.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
